Miguel Ramírez, originally from Extremadura in Spain, left his homeland at 19 to explore the world. Passionate about the arts and utopias, he forged friendships that led him into circles sometimes on the margins, but always committed and non-conformist.

Miguel embodies a spirit of conviviality that radiates on stage. His sincere and generous voice is the vessel of the very soul of Teclao.

Tireless and always in motion, he seems to be walking on stage even when seated on his wooden chair, in the typical flamenco posture.

His writing in Castilian reminds listeners of the richness of desires and feelings — but also the turmoil of a world shaken by a thousand tragedies.

The echo of Sabina, Brassens and Eskorbuto

Sensitive to words and their power in music, Miguel has developed a nuanced voice: the echo of Sabina and Brassens' poetry, the rage of Eskorbuto's punk, the depth and intensity of flamenco.

He regularly collaborates with contemporary artists in dance and theatre, notably with Leonardo Montecchia / Compagnie La Mentira and Compagnie Les Herbes Folles — and sometimes both together on the project Un aire de Flamenco.

Initially drawn to guitar and theatre, he ultimately found his path in singing and writing, never abandoning his love for human encounter, on stage and off.
